For the time being all sessions take place virtually using Zoom. You will need to ensure that you have good broadband access, a private place for attending sessions, and sufficient technological competence to engage online.
The initial consultation takes place over two sessions and these would be arranged for the same week or consecutive weeks. This is an opportunity to explore the difficulties and to think about what may best facilitate change and growth before agreeing to embark on the process of therapy.
The therapeutic process requires continuity in order to be effective. It therefore involves a commitment to a minimum of once weekly sessions and we would agree a regular time to meet on the same day each week. Sessions are fifty minutes long. Continuity is important and this time is kept for you. Therefore I do charge for all sessions that you miss or cancel, whatever the reason, and even when notice is given.
I offer sessions at a frequency of once to five times weekly. More frequent sessions can provide greater continuity and containment (the sense of being safely held so that deeper parts of oneself can be explored). This offers the potential for deep rooted and lasting change for individuals willing to engage in longer term therapy.
